Putnam Foundation and Spokane YMCA partner for kids

The Putnam Foundation kicked off a long-term partnership designed at making sure all kids in Spokane get a chance to play.  In 2005, The Putnam Foundation will be sponsoring 75 children in a variety of sports.  These organizations will work together to develop programs designed to give each kid a chance to experience and learn and from a competitive situation.

There are only so many places on Varsity and Junior Varsity at the high-school level.  This leaves many kids in a potentially tough situation as the lack of community resources leaves many without positive influences and experiences.  This partnership will look to help fill that gap.

“We are excited about this partnership and establishing a leadership position to shape new programs that will see our mission come to fruition in Spokane; that every kid gets to play and connect with their community.” Said Executive Director, Chris Turnley

This program will help give many kids a chance to play and the YMCA to better service their community and their mission.  For more information, please see www.ymcaspokane.org .
